Promoting CDM in Pacific island countries

The ACP MEA workshop took place at Carbon Expo Australasia 2012, Melbourne, on 7 November 2012.

During the event the UNEP Risoe Centre and six Pacific island countries presented the results of the ACP MEA project in the region.

The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) through its UNEP Risø Centre has been working with Pacific island countries to build capacity and involvement in Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects since 2009. Vanuatu, Tonga, Samoa, Solomon Islands, and PNG have been covered under this EU-funded project.

The workshop discussed the results of the project in the Pacific region. Representatives from the participating countries shared their experiences and plans.
